On February 26, our CEO Kelsey Mayo joined Georgia Life Sciences for their annual Day at the Capitol in Atlanta. It is one of the organization's signature advocacy events, bringing life sciences executives from across the state directly to the Georgia General Assembly to engage legislators on the policy priorities shaping our industry.
For many early-stage companies, success is often measured by technical milestones: research completed, prototypes built, clinical partnerships established, and funding secured. Those milestones matter. But innovation does not happen in isolation. The environment that allows new technologies to develop and reach patients is shaped by policy decisions, public investment, and the relationships that connect industry leaders with policymakers.
At the event, Dr. Mayo had the opportunity to speak with Senator Ed Setzler, and Representative Bryce Berry. Those conversations about what we are building, and what the policy environment means for companies at our stage, help ensure policymakers understand the challenges and opportunities facing emerging healthcare innovators.
For Armor Medical, participating in this kind of advocacy is an extension of our mission. The road from innovation to patient impact is shaped as much by policy as it is by science. Federal funding access, state-level investment in the ecosystem, and relationships with the legislators who make those decisions all matter and they all require showing up.
Georgia's life sciences community is growing in ways that deserve more attention than they typically receive. The research institutions are strong, the clinical infrastructure is deep, and the ecosystem of emerging companies is expanding. Georgia Life Sciences plays a central role in making sure that momentum is understood and supported at the highest levels of state government.
We are proud to be part of a community that takes healthcare innovation and advocacy seriously.
